In fantasy football, it's not uncommon for an owner to round out their roster with a few high upside rookies in the later rounds. These are normally low-risk, high-reward moves. If the players don't work out, you can replace them with waiver wire pick-ups. If they do work out, then you just got a great return on your investment in terms of value.
If you're trying to hit a late-draft homerun on a rookie, why not take a flier on Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Nelson Agholor?
I know that the Eagles are a bit of a circus right now under Chip Kelly and I know that quarterback Sam Bradford is far from a sure thing. But Kelly's offensive system is very quarterback friendly. The Eagles were top five in yards and points per game with Nick Foles and Mark Sanchez at the helm last year and Bradford is more naturally talented than both of those guys. Plus, Bradford is being reunited with offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur, who was in St. Louis when Bradford won offensive rookie of the year in 2010. It's possible that this pairing could lead to a breakout.
And then you have Agholor's natural talent. He may not be Amari Cooper or Kevin White in terms of raw ability, but he's got enough to make an impact.
"A very good return man, Agholor is excellent with the ball in his hands," ESPN Fantasy Insider Matt Williamson wrote. "Overall, his athletic profile isn't overwhelming and he doesn't have a single truly elite trait, but he is very effective working out of the slot and is above-average in just about all areas of the position. In fact, he has an awful lot of similarities to Jeremy Maclin, so his landing spot in Philadelphia really couldn't be better. Chip Kelly loves wide receivers with his versatility. Agholor is currently only 21 years old, which also adds to his dynasty value."
