James McAvoy will sport the signature bald dome of Charles Xavier when he appears in "X-Men: Apocalypse."
McAvoy had his head shaved this week to transform his appearance to look like the older version of Professor X, played by Patrick Stewart. Director Bryan Singer posted a photo of his star just as the hair stylist finished.
"#Xavier reborn (in process)," Singer captioned the pic.
Filming on the latest "X-Men" movie began about two weeks ago. Singer, who is directing his fourth film of the comic book franchise, has been posting photos from set almost every day.
"Apocalypse" will wrap up the storylines of the "First Class"-era characters, including Charles Xavier, Erik Lensherr a.k.a. Magneto (Michael Fassbender), Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) and Hank a.k.a. Beast (Nicholas Hoult).
"X-Men: Apocalypse" will premiere in theaters on May 27, 2016.
