"American Idol" is officially coming to an end after season 15.
The once-successful reality show - which launched the careers of recording stars Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and Jennifer Hudson - is losing its popularity and saw shortened hours during season 14 (the current season), reported The Assoicated Press.
"American Idol" premiered in 2002 and quickly became one of the most-watched shows on television, reported Deadline. The reality show's success inspired other musical reality shows including "The X Factor" and "The Voice."
Ryan Seacrest hosted the show all 15 years, but the judges changed throughout the years. Seacrest is set to come back for the final season, reported Deadline.
Current judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. are set to return for the final season, reported AP.
This upcoming final season in 2015-16 will feature throwback appearances from some "notable alumni," reported Deadline.
