Let the semifinals begin!
The Top 5 contestants gave their all once again in hopes of making it to the finals as they continue to make it difficult each week for viewers to choose which to send home with their impeccable performances.
Last night, the performers delivered one song picked by their coaches and another dedicated to their hometowns.
Joshua Davis, the last remaining member of Team Adam, kicked off the night with the song "I Cant Make You Love Me" by Bonnie Raitt. Davis' tender rendition was met with high praise from all the coaches including Blake Shelton, who wanted to sit around a campfire singing with him.
He looked the most comfortable during his hometown dedication performance, singing 'When I Paint My Masterpiece' by The Band. Davis had Christina Aguilera gushing, "I've become such a fan."
"That second song was my jam," Davis told Headlines & Global News exclusively. "I grew up on music festivals and would play that song around a campfire at 3 o'clock in the morning. So like Blake said, that's how the performance felt to me."
Koryn Hawthorne represented Team Pharrell first with her performance of U2's "One." All the coaches gave high praise to the 17-year-old singer for her polished delivery.
Hawthorne chose "Oh Mary Don't You Weep" by Aretha Franklin for her hometown dedication. Her dramatic performance garnered more high praise and Adam Levine awarded her with the distinction of "the most progression of anyone ever on the show."
The teenage performer called Levine's praise "amazing."
"It was everything I needed and more, now I have all the tools to become the artist I want to be," she told HNGN.
Hawthorne also received a video message from her idol Kelly Clarkson that left her giddy.
"I love her," she gushed. "I wanted something from her and was just hoping for a tweet after I sang Stronger, but the video was much better - that was amazing!"
Team Blake's last remaining contestant Meghan Linsey delivered the night's best performance with "I'm Not the Only One" by Sam Smith followed by her rendition of George Jones' "Tennessee Whiskey." Shelton praised her "vintage appeal" while Adam Levine commended her "commitment to the competition."
"It felt great," Linsey told HNGN. "I got to do two songs that I love and went out there and put my own spin on them."
When HNGN quizzed about her vintage appeal, Shelton said, "She reminds me of the cartoon Betty Boop. Like if she was blond with a little bit of Marilyn Monroe, but way more talented than either of those two."
India Carney represented Team Christina by tackling "Gravity" by Sara Bareilles and "Earth Song" by Michael Jackson. Levine called her performance of "Gravity" "amazing" while Shelton declared it "powerful."
"It's an honor to hear those words from my coach Christina and from the other coaches," a beaming Carney told HNGN. "It's a blessing to have that positive reinforcement and those wonderful, kind words of encouragement as that's what keeps me going in this competition."
Team Pharrell's Sawyer Fredericks maintained his frontrunner status by delivering two stellar performances on the night. He came out of the gate with the Buffalo Springfield classic, "For What It's Worth" and then followed it up with, "A Thousand Years" by Christina Perri.
Following his first performance, Adam Levine told Fredericks, "It's hard to do that one justice and you did."
"That's an amazing song," Sawyer admitted to HNGN. "The lyrics are beautiful and still relevant in the world today. Personally, I think that song will always be relevant."
Despite Fredericks' frontrunner status, host Carson Daly cautions that it's not a done deal. His team member Hawthorne could still give him a run for him money.
"Somebody asked can anybody beat Sawyer?" Daly told HNGN. "I don't think it's sewn up just yet. Koryn really hit on all cylinders tonight and brought down the house. It's a tough choice."
"The Voice" will reveal this season's finalists tonight at 8 p.m. on NBC.
