Waka Flocka Flame Cancels Australian Tour: Visa Denied Due To Drug, Gun Offenses

Sorry, Australia.

Waka Flocka Flame has cancelled his upcoming Australian shows after being denied entry into the country. Billboard reported that the Department of Immigration and Border Protection refused to grant the rapper a visa, due to his recent drugs and gun offenses.

Waka Flocka was expected to play four venues in Australia and two in New Zealand in May.

New Zealand tour promoter Robin Fernando announced the cancelled shows via Facebook and explained why the rapper, whose real name is Juaquin James Malphurs, was not allowed in the country.

"Unfortunately Waka Flocka's entry into Australia was denied by the Australian Government Department of Immigration and Border Protection, due to his recent arrest(s) on both firearms and drug charges," the message read. "While a VISA into New Zealand had been approved, the Australian situation means that Waka Flocka's tour to this part of the world will no longer take place at this time, and will be rescheduled for later in the year."

The statement further explained that promoters will make an effort to help the rapper gain access into the country for possible future dates.

"All ticket holders will be contacted for an immediate refund by Non Stop Tix, and will receive prior notification of Waka Flocka's new tour dates and guaranteed presale tickets for the new shows. We apologize for the inconvenience this causes, as hip hop fans ourselves we are gutted to not be seeing Waka Flocka play in New Zealand as planned, however we are committed to bringing the world's best hip-hop acts to our shores, and will continue to do so," the statement continued.

In October 2014, the 28-year-old was arrested at an Atlanta airport after he was found with a loaded handgun in his luggage.
