Perez Hilton is a dad - again.
The 37-year-old blogger welcomed his second child, a baby girl named Mia Alma, on Saturday via surrogate. Hilton broke the news via his Instagram account and his perezhilton.com website.
"It is with great pride and relief that I can finally announce: I am a dad again!" he captioned a photo of his newborn's foot. Hilton captioned a second photo of his daughter's birth certificate, which featured her footprints.
"The road to this birth has been a difficult journey, quite different from the first time, and my son and I are overjoyed at this happy and healthy addition to our family. Every child is a blessing and this Mother's Day was extra blessed for me and my mother!" he wrote on his website.
Hilton told The Associated Press that spending the day with his mom and baby girl "was the best way to celebrate Mother's Day." He also revealed that his daughter's name means "my soul" in Spanish, adding, "Because I'm cheesy like that."
He did not reveal the hospital where his daughter was born in order to protect the surrogate's identity, but Hilton admitted to the AP that he tried several times to have a second child but was unsuccessful.
"I was starting to lose hope," he said. "Getting pregnant is very hard and every baby is a blessing."
He also revealed that no one except his mother and his sister knew that he was expecting another child, saying, "It's been the hardest secret I've kept in a long time. I'm excited for the two of them, so they can have each other and my son can look after her. It's a real family now."
Hilton is preparing to introduce his baby girl to his son Mario Armando Lavandeira III, whom he welcomed in 2013.
