Chloe Bennet Teases ‘Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Finale: ‘Every Relationship Will Be Tested Or Changed

Skye had finally seemed to find a home with S.H.I.E.L.D. but her newfound Inhuman powers has led to meeting her birth mother, Jiaying, and causing her to rethink her loyalties between the two families.

Skye will have the unfortunate task of deciding which family to swear her allegiance to as S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Inhumans go to war in the season two finale of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."

"In the finale you'll see Skye just being completely torn between this S.H.I.E.L.D. family that she, I think in her gut, knows is right, and this person who she's kind of just come upon and really grown to trust in a short period," Chloe Bennet, who plays the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent turned Inhuman, told Paste Magazine.

Jiaying (Dichen Lachman) has taught her daughter how to harness her powers, but also revealed in the last episode that will do anything to protect her people, the Inhumans. She killed S.H.I.E.L.D. commander Robert Gonzalez (Edward James Olmos), but staged it as if she had been attacked.

"Shooting the finale was definitely difficult for me, as Chloe, what Skye doesn't know because he whole life she's been looking for her parents and wanting to have a connection. She finally finds it and there's this woman who's so interesting and knowledgeable and comes across as caring and kind... it's been kind of a dream come true."

Choosing between the two opposing sides will also weigh heavily on Skye's relationship with her mentor and pseudo-maternal figure, Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen).

"To say you'll probably see a little bit of tension between May and Skye in the finale would be an understatement," Bennet teased. "Skye is in a bit of a teenage phase in my mind. She so badly wants for her new family to be who she has grown to think they are in her mind."

On the relationship front, Bennet realizes "S.H.I.E.L.D." fans still want her to end up with Grant Ward (Brett Dalton) despite his murderous streak.

"It's so funny because he's like a big time murder," she said. "The logical person in me, I would never date someone who's a murderer. He did some pretty unforgivable things. So unless he does a complete 180, I don't know.

Who does have a shot with Skye going forward? A few possibilities include her new Inhuman friend Lincoln (Luke Mitchell) or her bestie, Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge).

"I'm not opposed to that. I love Elizabeth. I'd be so happy with that," Bennet said.

If Skye and Simmons never work out, Bennet would love for the scientist to hook up with her long time lab partner, Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker), but for mischievous reasons.

"I just want to see Iain and Elizabeth make out in real life because that would be so hilarious and awkward - they're like siblings," she said. "I would get a bag of popcorn and sit there and look at how uncomfortable they'd be, and it would be so fun for me."

As for the finale, Bennet warns fans to prepare for an immense amount of "feels" throughout the two-hour event as well as intense action that will leave the team forever changed.

"S.H.I.E.L.D. is really putting everything on the line," Bennet said. "Everyone's forced to make sacrifices and everyone's relationships are going to change."

"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." airs its second season finale tonight at 9 p.m. on ABC.
