Blue the Queensland Heeler dog saved the life of his 3-year-old human after she snuck out of her Arizona home and got lost in the woods.
Blue came to Victoria's rescue much earlier than the local search and rescue teams, reported LittleThings.com. The heroic dog used his body warmth to keep his tiny friend warm and alive through the frigid night until help finally came 15-hours-later.
When the search teams arrived, Blue was protecting Victoria and trying to keep the strangers away from his friend. He eventually realized the strangers were there to help and let the humans finish the rescue.
Victoria's family and the local sheriff department firmly believe that if it weren't for Blue she wouldn't have survived.
"The dog kept her alert, warm and gave her companionship throughout a very cold night," a sherrff spokesman said.
