The Chicago Bulls’ preseason schedule was revealed on Thursday, showing which teams the Bulls will be playing in October. More importantly for Bulls fans, the scheduled shows the date point guard Derrick Rose will be back on the floor, according to ESPNChicago.com.
Rose is expected to play in the Bulls preseason opener against the Indiana Pacers on Oct. 5.
While in Madrid last month for an adidas promotion, he told a reporter that h will “definitely play” in the Bulls’ first preseason game.
"I should be able to play in the first game of the season," said Rose according to HoopsHype.com."I know I'm anxious right now to play. My health is everything right now, it's 100 percent. But right now, the first game ... I will definitely be playing it.”
Rose missed all of last a season recovering from a torn ACL he suffered during the 2011-2012 posteason. Coach Tom Thibodeau believes his point guard is ready to get back on the court. However, he will continue to monitor Rose.
“We'll see once we get to training camp, and we're going to have an opportunity to get some work done in the fall, but we have to keep in mind he's been out an extended amount of time," Thibodeau said. "So the preseason -- and we look at training camp as the entire month, not just a week -- we'll move him along accordingly.”
Thibodeau has also said Rose will play in the normal eight minute preseason-rotation for starters.
"We'll see what he can handle. I think there's going to be some rust initially, but I fully expect him to get back to [being] the player we all know that he is,"
Among the Bulls preseason games is a trip to Rio De Janeiro for a matchup against the Washington Wizards
