India Carney will not give Team Christina its first "Voice" champion.
Carney was eliminated from "The Voice" on Tuesday night, not a complete shock after finishing in the bottom two for the last three weeks. Koryn Hawthorne, a supposed favorite, received the Twitter save to help her avoid elimination.
The frontrunner, Sawyer Fredericks from Team Pharrell, heard his named called first as one of the final four contestants. Team Blake's Meghan Linsey followed along with Team Adam's Joshua Davis.
Carney was the first announced in this week's bottom two, which left Hawthorne and Davis. When Davis received his pass to the finals, Twitter fans then had to decide the fate of Carney and Hawthorne.
Carney delivered a powerful version of the Kelly Clarkson hit, "Dark Side," but it was no match for Hawthorne's performance of "If I Were a Boy" by Beyoncé.
"When it comes down to it, I'll miss the friends I made here and the whole experience," Carney told Headlines & Global News exclusively.
She added, "The voice really empowers you as an artist and they treat us so well here. They give us these incredible opportunities and I was just really living in it and taking advantage as much as I can, it's just a beautiful experience."
As for the future, Carney is looking to complete her education and take what she has learned on the show to new levels.
"Technically I'm going back to school, I have three or four more weeks left and a senior recital to do so we'll see about that," she said, laughing.
She also may want a change of scenery with a move from the East Coast to the West.
"I'm really trying use the experiences and what Christina taught me, along with the people behind the scenes, to try and really get myself out there. I want to be a songwriter as well as a singer and I think LA is the perfect place to try and pursue that - oh and get some rest," she said with a smile.
Next Monday, "The Voice" talent will kick it into high gear when the Top 4 perform for a spot in Tuesday's crucial finale. Who will make it? Tune in at 8 p.m. on NBC.
