Seattle Seahawks RUMORS: 'Frustrated' Russell Wilson Wants $20 Million Per Season; Schneider Won't Budge?

It seems contract negotiations between the Seattle Seahawks and quarterback Russell Wilson have taken a turn for the worse.

According to the latest report, Wilson has been angered by the approach of Seahawks GM John Schneider and does not feel his individual contributions to the Seattle cause are being given enough weight in contract talks.

"Wilson has become increasingly frustrated according to sources I've talked to, which explains many of his recent tweets where he has talked about people not really respecting the contributions of individuals. He is hinting very strongly at the Seahawks that he doesn't feel appreciated in this situation," reports Jason Cole of Bleacher Report.

Per Cole, Wilson, who holds the record for most wins by a quarterback to start a career, has upped his contract demands to a point the Seahawks just won't go to.

"In talking to sources who understand the situation, Wilson is looking for a contract in excess of $20 million per year over five years. The problem is, the Seahawks have no desire to get anywhere close to that," Cole said.

In lieu of meeting those exorbitant demands, the Seahawks and Schneider are reportedly willing to allow Wilson to play out the remainder of his deal, then franchise tag him for both 2016 and 2017.

"Primarily, the Seahawks figure that even with the franchise tag in two years, 2016 and 2017, after Wilson's contract runs out after this season, they're going to pay him no more than $45 to $48 million for Wilson over the next three years. Based on that, they're willing to play out the string on this one."

In the end, it seems the likeliest outcome at this point is that the two sides give up the hope of hammering out a deal this offseason and potentially revisit talks prior to being forced to use the franchise tag next year.
