It was revealed Friday afternoon that Bob Dylan will be the musical guest on David Letterman's second-to-last edition of "The Late Show" next Tuesday. The news was reported by several outlets, including the New York Daily News, which noted that Dylan has not appeared on the program since 1993.
Dylan has performed for Letterman a total of three times: 1984, 1992 and 1993, CNN Money reported. Bill Murray will join Dylan as a guest on next Tuesday's show. CNN Money further reported that Dylan has not performed on TV since the 1993 Letterman appearance, but he has played on the Grammys since then.
The New York Times' Dave Itzkoff, who broke the news on Thursday that Eddie Vedder would serve as Letterman's final musical guest, also was the first to report the news of Dylan's slot.
