Those viewing the 2015 Billboard Music Awards from home last night barely heard anything when it came to Kanye West's heavily bleeped closing act, but those at the MGM Grand sure got an earful.
Leave it to West to not do a dress rehearsal for the performance of his hit song "All Day." Production sources tell TMZ that they just expected him to perform a clean version of the song, which is full of curses, and be on his best behavior considering "he knew it was national TV."
"He's Kanye. What were we supposed to do?" is all the production source really had to say.
TV showed West in a constant cloud of smoke and barely any of the song's words being sung due to nearly four minutes of dead-air censoring. At times, the TV censoring went as long as 15 solid seconds of silence.
Sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner weren't crowd favorites either. The two were booed as they entered the stage to introduce their brother-in-law, and West was booed not only before he performed, but after the performance as well.
Billboard reached out to West's representatives about the incident, but no comments have been made yet.
