Thirty-three-year-old actress and model Jessica Alba has been in some hit movies like "Sin City" and "Fantastic Four," but with her 3-year-old business, The Honest Company, doing so well, she wonders if she should focus on the organization and give up on acting completely.
The movie star didn't always have it as together as she does now. In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly's sister UK magazine, HELLO! Fashion Monthly, Alba admits that she's really had to transform herself over the past few years.
Alba claims she was a "hot mess" in her early 20s. "I used to listen to stylists and makeup artists and hairdressers that I didn't know well," she stated. "They would just doll me up how they wanted to and I would look crazy!"
Judging by her current lifestyle with her sophisticated fashion and her carefree attitude, you'd never realize she wasn't always so put together.
"Who cares what people think?" says a confident Alba. "I don't care about [weight] as much after having kids. I'm bigger than I was before and I'm totally fine with it. I embrace how I look in a different way."
Becoming a mom to her two daughters, Honor Marie, 6, and Haven Garner, 3, changed her entire attitude and inspired her to live a healthier lifestyle, which lead to her successful business.
The Honest Company is a consumer goods company aimed at educating parents on protecting their children from harmful chemicals often found in diapers and baby wash. The company makes more than $150 million a year.
Alba admits, "It's tempting to leave acting completely and focus on my company. It's definitely more fulfilling. And when I put my time into it, I feel like I'm doing something that's productive and there's a real outcome. With entertainment, I feel like you're just throwing stuff against the wall and you don't know if anyone's going to see it."
