Hardware developer NVIDIA has released a new update for its graphics tech that will make it easier to play the highly anticipated "Witcher 3: Hunt of Kings."
NVIDIA has a history of releasing game-ready drivers for upcoming releases whenever new and technologically innovative games hit the market. NVIDIA's 352.86 driver is no exception. According to Anandnews.com, "the focus on this driver is enabling SLI and GeForce Experience support for The Witcher 3, which along with its high profile nature is also one of the games in NVIDIA's latest game bundle."
The 352.86 update also includes some small updates and new profiles for other high-function games, including "Civilization: Beyond Earth" and "Magicka 2."
But here's what makes the 352.86 driver update so interesting; it's the first Windows 7/8 (WDDM 1.x) release of a R352 branch driver. The R352 branch of drivers was announced about a month after the R349 branch of drivers, which provided graphic support for the PC version of "Grand Theft Auto 5."
But what does the 352.86 update actually include? The update notes only mention the small tweaks and the new profiles. It's possible there is a larger update in 352.86, but it's unclear at this time.
Anandnews.com notes that "new branches typically contain more significant feature and performance enhancements, so there may be a surprise or two in here."
352.86 is currently incompatible with Windows 10, which analysts expect to arrive some time this summer, so users should expect another driver update in the near future.
