ABC's hit series "The Bachelorette" is changing things up this time around by having two girls, Kaitlyn Bristow and Britt Nilsson, from last seasons "The Bachelor" compete against each other to find love.
But during a press conference before last night's premiere, Bristowe and Nilsson spoke to reporters and admitted that they weren't exactly excited about the show's format change.
"It was definitely unexpected, and I was shocked," Bristowe said during the conference, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "I was kind of just beside myself because I didn't know what to think. I wasn't excited about it, but I just really had to take a step back and think of the light at the end of the tunnel."
Luckily, the two found a way to support each other during the whole process and even found themselves laughing about it. This helped "tame down the awkwardness."
"It's just a wild situation," Nilsson stated. "It was wild. It was fun, but yes, there were awkward moments, of course."
Having 25 eligible men going after two women can't be a comfortable situation, but the two girls had very different approaches to the whole thing. "I think I was a little more hesitant and uncomfortable," Bristowe claims. "And I think Britt thought [of it] more of like an incredible opportunity, which I did, too. But [I was] just a little more uncomfortable."
Bristowe even told People that, "At first, I had a lot of nerves and, once it started happening, it was really fun."
Tune in to ABC tonight for part two of the premiere.
