Apple Users who buy the new Macbook Pro in the next week will get a big surprise – a Force Touch trackpad.
Earlier this week, Macg.co received anonymous reports about new versions of the Macbook Pro. Now Apple has released the products for the market.
The 15-inch Macbook Pro is receiving a number of new updates. First, the Macbook will now have a Force Touch trackpad. Apple first showed off the Force Touch technology during their press event in April. They originally installed the technology in the new Macbook and the Apple Watch. Now the update is coming to the average Macbook Pro.
But that's not the only update to the 15 inch Macbook Pro. The model will now be outfitted with a AMD Radeon R9 M370X graphics chip which should increase graphics performance by 80% when compared to Macbook Pro's old chip.
Apple is currently offering two versions of the 15 inch Macbook Pro. There's the $1999 Macbook Pro, which has a 2.2GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of memory, 256GB of storage, and Intel's Iris Pro Graphics. Then there's the $2499 Macbook, which has the new AMD graphics chip, a 2.5GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 CPU, 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
While the Macbook Pro has the best tech, it's not the only computer getting an upgrade. Apple also released two new versions of the 27-inch iMac. The $1999 iMac has a Retina 5K display, a 3.3GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB of memory, a 1TB hard drive and an AMD Radeon R9 M290 graphics card. The $2299 iMac comes with a Retina 5K display, a 1TB hybrid Fusion drive, a 3.5GHz i5 processor, and an AMD Radeon R9 M290X graphics card.
All of these devices are now available for purchase on the Apple store.
