Microsoft Hosts Solitaire Battle Royale In Honor of Game's 25th Anniversary

If there's one game Microsoft users have played, its popular one-player card game Solitaire.

While Solitaire has been around since the mid 18th century, the game developed its modern notoriety when Microsoft decided on May 22, 1990 to install a copy of Solitaire onto Windows 3.0. From that day on, Microsoft has pre-installed a version of Solitaire onto every operating system they've designed.

Now Microsoft has announced that the company host an online Solitaire tournament to celebrate twenty five years of gameplay.

But how on earth do you host a tournament for one-player game?

As of this posting, its unclear how the competition will work, but PC World reports that Microsoft is currently hosting an internal Solitaire competition in order to work out the details.

Microsoft recently took a break from pre-installing Solitaire with Windows 8 and 8.1. whose users had to download the game from Windows store. But recent Windows 10 builds revealed that Solitaire will make its pre-installed return in the near future.
