Reno Brewpub Patron Skips $100 Tab; Arrested After Pub Owner Posted His Photos in Facebook

“ATTN RENO: If you know, or see, this dude, please call RENO POLICE DEPT at 334-2121 immediately, and then remind him that his tab at The Brewer's Cabinet is still waiting to be paid.”

This status alongside a photo of Saul Zelaznog’ went viral after having been posted in Facebook.

With an assist from the social networking site, police in Reno, Nevada got their man.

On Thursday night, just a couple of days after he walked out on a $100 tab at the Reno brew pub Brewer’s Cabinet, Saul Zelaznog was arrested on a probation violation.

One of the proprietor’s of Brewer’s Cabinet, Chris Kahl, informed Daily News that a number of local businesses called him after the Facebook post went up with stories of Zelaznog ditching out on a tab at their pub.

Kahl said “It seemed like he was a pro. He definitely knew what he was doing.”

At first, the delinquent customer denied the allegations saying he had just forgotten to carry his wallet and would make amends on his bar debts.

“I’m not trying to burn bridges around town. This is a small little town,” Zelaznog said.

Whilst Reno police, unspecified the precise nature of the probation violation, records show that last October, Zelaznog was detained for unapproved usage of a credit card.

Staff at the Brewer’s Cabinet celebrated after the arrest of Zelaznog.

On late Thursday, Brewer’s Cabinet posted to its Facebook page, “We are excited to custody by the Reno Parole and Probation Department. We hope that all of his outstanding debts are paid in time, but more importantly, that he makes wiser decisions in the future.”

Kahl was pleasingly amazed by the reaction that the Facebook post brought.

"It exposed him, that's for sure," Kahl said. "We're just glad to put it behind us."
