Jane Fonda W Magazine Cover: Fashion Icon at 77

Model, actress and fitness guru Jane Fonda still looks beyond amazing at 77, and her W Magazine cover is definite proof of that. She may be the oldest star to ever appear on the magazine's cover, but she's still more fashionable, and in better shape, than most.

In the exclusive cover interview for the June/July issue of W Magazine, Fonda couldn't help but laugh when she heard what people said. "I think it's a hoot that, at my age, people are calling me a fashion icon," she explained.

For someone her age, she knows exactly how to dress her body. She knows what to show off and what to hide, and she has no problem admitting her insecurities.

"Something that will show off my waist and bum, because I've always had a good bum," Fonda said about the Balmain jumpsuit she recently wore on the Grammy's red carpet.

When it comes to showing off her arms, Fonda feels the exact opposite.

"Now these only come out during candlelight on a very dark evening," she says. "I'm older now, and I have to be more self-conscious. When you're young you can get away with more. I always thought that being self-conscious was a negative. But now I feel differently."

Fonda had a vision of giving "a cultural face to older women," so she decided to come clean about her past with plastic surgery. "I did have plastic surgery," she admitted. "I'm not proud of the fact that I've had it. But I grew up so defined by my looks. I was taught to think that if I wanted to be loved, I had to be thin and pretty. That leads to a lot of trouble."

Fonda can now be seen starring in Netflix's new hit series, "Grace and Frankie."
