Microsoft has confirmed discounts offered for its Surface Pro Tablet, subsequent to big reductions to its Surface RT costs lately. Ten percent or almost $100 dollars will be deducted from the 64GB and 128GB models in the U.S. However, not all regions seem to have Surface Pro price cuts yet, but U.S., Canada, Taiwan and Hong Kong are all cutting prices on both models.
Microsoft’s Surface RT tablets 30 percent price cut was followed by the Surface pro pricing. In its recent quarter, Surface RT earned $900 million, but Microsoft seemed to be focusing its write-down and price cuts on just the Surface RT tablet. The Surface Pro discounts also seemed to be permanent as suggested on the Microsoft’s Surface site.
A couple of thought floated up from the Surface cut down. First, proposed that Microsoft's besieged tablets just haven't been selling adequately, and that these mark downs are the "easy button" for Microsoft to reclaim a little. And second, a bit more positive, is that Microsoft is clearing out inventory for an ultimate upgrade to a new version of the Surface Pro, Surface RT, or both. The company has recently hinted that some kind of update to both tablets is on the way, but it's vague as to when, precisely, the update might hit for either – as well, what the company might really have in store for a new tablet.
The software developer company recently implied a refreshed Surface Pro and Surface RT models. Microsoft is anticipated to refresh Surface Pro with a Haswell processor, and Microsoft has been trying Surface devices with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 processor.
There were also rumors that the company has plans of including several new accessories for Surface tablets, which includes a battery-equipped keyboard cover that Microsoft has formerly teased. New accessory colors are also projected soon.
