Shonda Rhimes New Show: ‘The Catch’ To Recast Two Lead Roles

Shonda Rhimes will premiere another new series on ABC this upcoming TV season, but there's one catch - a couple actors have to go.

"The Catch" is recasting two lead roles played by Bethany Joy Lenz and Damon Dayoub. The actors play married couple Zoe and Kieran, a husband-and-wife con artist team that target an elite fraud investigator, played by Mireille Enos.

Lenz broke the bad news on Tuesday evening via her WhoSay account but also thanked her fans for their continued support.

"Looks like they need a different type for ZOE, so I'll be replaced, but please still watch!" the "One Tree Hill" alum wrote. "It really is SUCH a good show and I'm so proud of my friends' work!"

Lenz also alluded to other new projects possibly in the works and promised to keep everyone posted.

Dayoub will also be recast as Kieran, who poses as Enos' fiance to pull off his long con, according to Variety. Luckily, he already has a long recurring arc lined up on the new ABC Family series, "Stitchers," which premieres on June 2 at 9 p.m.

ABC will premiere "The Catch" at midseason. It will take the place of the other Shondaland drama, "How to Get Away with Murder," in the Thursday night lineup following "Grey's Anatomy" and "Scandal."
