Fitness expert Jillian Michaels is all for plastic surgery, as long as it comes in moderation.
In PEOPLE's new Bodies Issue, which hits stands Friday, May 22, Michaels, admits to having a nose job at a very young age.
"I had my nose done when I was 16 years old," the 41-year-old says. "And I'll be honest, it did change my life."
The in shape mother of two thinks that body alterations can be a good thing, as long as you don't become addicted to plastic surgery.
"I think that anything in life is about the middle ground," she claims.
After years of being bullied for the way she looked, she says the plastic surgery helped her "feel more confident."
She's not one to let physical appearances define her, instead focusing on doing things for "the right reasons"
"There are some things that can make people feel really insecure," she states. "So, if there is something you want to fix that allows you to feel a little bit more confident, I support it."
