Any hopes that Anthony Weiner may have had that his latest scandal would just quietly go away so that he can focus on his mayoral campaign have been dashed as Sydney Leathers, the woman with whom he was "sexting," has shot a hardcore video for pornographic filmmaker Vivid, according to the New York Daily News.
The adult video features Leathers draped in an American flag that fails to cover very much of her as she holds up a fake newspaper from the "New York Bugle" with the headline "WEINERGATE." The newly famous Leathers explained to the New York Daily News why she decided to do the film.
"No one pushed me into anything, they understand I'm like this little Midwestern girl," Leathers said. "I can't work or go to school right now, how else am I going to make a living? This has consumed my life for the moment. I do want to go back to normal life, but the campaign season is not over. I think people forget I'm a very normal girl."
Vivid has made a habit of going after "celebrity sex tapes" over the years. Some of the more notorious tapes from the pornography giant include "sex tapes" from Kim Kardashian, Pamela Anderson and "Teen Mom" star Farrah Abraham, according to Gawker.
In the video Leathers talks about her role in the scandal that may be the final undoing of Weiner, according to Talking Points Memo.
"I'm Sydney Leathers. Anthony Weiner and I had a 'sexting' relationship for several months, and that came out in the press, so here I am," Leathers said in the video. "We had phone sex several times a week while this was going on. We did send each other pictures. They were pretty much all nude."
Just one week ago Leathers appeared on Howard Stern's radio show and said that she was keeping her "options open" as to considering whether or not she should appear in porn. In the appearance Leathers explained that she was irate after watching Weiner insisting that he had changed while campaigning for Mayor of New York City, according to the Huffington Post.
"The hypocrisy got to me," Leathers told Stern. "I am proof you have not changed...I was flattered that he trusted me enough to send [his naked photos] in the moment. And also just completely baffled that someone so book smart could be so stupid in life."
