Jihad Jane's Alleged Recruiter Freed by Dublin Court

Terrorism suspect Ali Charaf Damache had been freed by a Dublin court after five years in prison because the Irish judge believed that United States prisons can potentially have cruel conditions.

This was stated in the 333-page decision by Dublin Justice Aileen Donnelly, where she also criticized the Irish prosecutors regarding the case.

Donnelly's decision also frees Damache of his two-year legal battle against extradition to the US, according to the Associated Press.

U.S. authorities had fought to bring 50-year-old Damache to court for being an alleged conspirator to do acts of terror in the country.

Donnelly, on the other hand, relied on the defense's argument that Damache had been living in Ireland for 15 years and had not set foot in the US.

She also castigated the Irish state prosecutors for abdicating Damache for additional terror charges in Ireland in 2011.

FBI affidavits have allegedly linked Damache to be the leader of recruiting American women in online chat rooms to do terror-related attacks in their own country.

He had been allegedly been the recruiter of American citizen Colleen "Jihad Jane" LaRose, who is now serving a 10-year prison sentence for conspiracy to murder and aid terrorists, according to Philly.com.

Damache had allegedly married another online recruit, Jamie Paulin-Ramirez, who agreed to be extradited in the US and is now serving an 8-year sentence for conspiring with terrorists, ABC News added.
