A pediatric dentist from Jacksonville, Fla. has given up his license to practice dentistry in the state after being accused of using practices on children deemed uncalled for and abusive.
The dentist, Dr. Howard Schneider, faces accusations from numerous parents of using his practice to physically abuse children, remove teeth without the use of anesthetics and conducting procedures that were unnecessary, the Daily Mail has reported. The 78-year-old has allegedly performed gruesome procedures on children for years, going as far as wearing scary costumes and threatening that he would kill their parents if they tell them what he did to them.
Officials in Florida have also opened up an investigation regarding the matter, with attorneys in the state saying they were working to bring him down.
Parents of Schneider's patients have spent the past three weeks relentlessly protested outside of his office, calling for his license to be stripped off of him and be banned from practicing anywhere else.
They have even posted photos of their children showing bruises around their mouths and cuts around their faces and necks in their respective social media accounts, according to a report from Opposing Views.
The former dentist was also reported to have received a whopping $4 million from Medicaid for the last five years.
Schneider has repeatedly denied the claims, refusing to address the media about the matter and flatly declining being interviewed when approached at his clinic.
