40-Pound Woman With Anorexia Pleads for Help in Viral Video

Rachael Farrokh's video plea for help has gone viral. The, 5'-7" former actress and anorexia sufferer now weighs just 40 pounds after battling the disease for a decade, MSN News reported.

Her husband, Rod Edmondson, created a GoFundMe page featuring the video to help them cover medical treatment.

"My name's Rachael. I need your help," Rachael Farrokh says in labored breaths on the YouTube video. Then the San Clemente, California resident goes on to say that her last chance for survival is treatment at a hospital across the country in New York, which specialized in her advanced condition.

"In order for us to get there – and I'm not one to ever ask for help – I need your help. We need your help. Otherwise, I don't have a shot, and I'm ready to get better. So please, if there's anything you can do to save my life, please click this link that you'll see and do anything you can. Anything will help," she says in the video.

CNN reported that Dr. Tim Walsh – an eating disorder specialist at New York State Psychiatric Institute, Columbia University – said that refeeding will be effective for Farrokh. Given her current state, however, it will need to be done by an experienced facility. Walsh also added that few medical facilities in the country have the experience and knowledge to treat Farrokh.
