There still hasn't been any official casting news yet but E.L. James did do an interview and spilled some secrets. Ok, they're not secrets about casting but she did talk about how she has been handling all the fame since "Fifty Shades of Grey" has become a phenomenon.
The author sat down with the blog The Sub Club for their one year anniversary.
"I had no idea what certain criteria Forbes uses to calculate their lists... but frankly I feel the same as I did before I was on any list," James said when asked about making the Forbes list for most powerful author in the world. "I am just thrilled that so many people have read and liked the books."
She said she doesn't feel like a celebrity and is glad that people don't always recognize her in public (that could change once the first move is released next August). Even though James might not feel like a celebrity she still has millions of fans.
The author did reveal that she is currently working on another book and said it is going to be different than the "Fifty Shades of Grey" trilogy. She also said during that interview that she believes the future of erotic romance will be around for a very long time.
"I think erotic romance has been around for a long time - and it will continue to be popular," she said. "Women love to read passionate love stories - and a great many authors love writing them so I think the future is safe and secure for erotic romance."
Even though she kept quiet about all the juicy casting news she did tweet about it recently. As always fans are constantly tweeting to the author asking when they can expect to hear some official news about who will play Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. Usually she doesn't respond to the tweets but this time she posted that there was no official just yet and fans are going to have to continue waiting.
That's sad news for all the die-hard fans that have been patiently waiting for almost a year to hear some kind of news but things could be slowly progressing towards a reveal. According to several reports, a casting call has been sent out for the lead roles in "Fifty Shades of Grey."
The call posted on Acting Auditions website says Universal Pictures is looking for a male and a female to play the kinky billionaire and the shy, innocent college student. The casting call asks for none of the information to be reprinted so you can check it out for yourself here.
It's not clear when exactly the casting call went out or if it is legit. Some fans are excited about this new piece of information but it does raise the question of whether the fan-favorites are all out of the running.
What do you think about the casting call? Real, fake, good news or bad news?
