Katy Perry Reflects on Russell Brand

After a heartbreaking divorce in 2011, Katy Perry and Russell Brand haven't done much talking at all.

Perry recently sat down with The Daily Telegraph and admitted that she hasn't spoken to Brand at all since the divorce.

"He hasn't spoken to me since he texted me saying he was filing for divorce," Perry revealed. "I don't want to talk about him - my songs will say what I need to say."

After the breakup, Perry seemed broken but she's still managed to be there for her fans and really give it her all when it comes to performances. The singer even feels responsibility towards her fans.

"I just want people to feel they can be themselves and they don't need any kind of accessory to make them them," she said. "That's why, when I did 'Part Of Me,' it was important to me to keep in some of the more unflattering shots in the film to show that, at the end of the day, I'm just a normal girl with a big dream. And I worked hard to achieve it. I wanted them to know they don't have to be born into something or born with something."

She is not the type of person to let heartbreak get her down and said she is in a much better place in her life now.

When asked if she ever thinks about having children, she replied, "I'm still growing up, I'm still learning about myself. When I become a mother I just want to become a mother and be dedicated to that."

The divorce has only helped make her stronger and she finds it hard to be afraid of anything now, especially after all she's been through.

"I'm one of those people that likes to be fearless," she admitted. "I don't like to live in fear because that traps you and your voices. Fear is a control tactic in the world that is negative and depressing and I don't want to be associated with it."

She's excited by whatever the future may hold in store for her and she won't ever let her past relationships get in the way of her happiness.

"I don't want to end up bittersweet," she said. "I have to evolve."
