Harman Singh is a Sikh man who was hailed hero when he took off his turban to cradle a boy's head who had been hit by a car.
The kind act of this generous 22-year-old Sikh Samaritan didn't just captured the hearts of the people around the globe, but it was also rewarded with new furniture for his home donated by a generous business owner.
The Daily Mail reported that Singh didn't hesitate to break a strict religious protocol just to aid 5-year-old Daejon Pahia after he was struck by a car while walking to school on May 15 in New Zealand.
The New Zealand television channel, One News, visited the Indian student, who is studying a business course in Auckland, and when the company discovered that Singh slept on a mattress on the floor and only had a couple of plastic garden chairs and a small plastic table in his lounge room, it offered to lend a helping hand.
He was then surprised with a van load of new furniture containing a new lounge suite, bed and coffee table to fill his sparsely furnished home.
The surprise brought him to tears, and he only managed to say, "Thank you. I'm very happy."
Even the reporters and most of the crew were reduced to tears, too, according to The Independent.
