Dustin Hoffman ‘Feeling Great’ After Successful Cancer Treatment

Oscar-winning actor Dustin Hoffman underwent a successful surgery for treatment of unspecified type of cancer and is in "good health."

Dustin Hoffman is recovering quickly following a successful treatment for cancer. The two-time Oscar winning actor has been cured of the disease and is "feeling great," actor's reps Jodi Gottlieb told PEOPLE in a statement. The 75-year-old actor will be undergoing doctor recommended preventative treatments in the future to reduce the risk of developing the disease again.

Rep Gottlieb did not reveal further details about the treatment or the type of cancer the actor suffered. "It was detected early and he has been surgically cured," she said. "Dustin is feeling great and is in good health."

Hoffman's speedy recovery will soon bring him back in the studios. The actor spent the last year promoting his upcoming film, Quartet, which marks his directorial debut.

"I would develop stuff like every other actor," Hoffman told "Good Morning America." "The most important part of it is when you're in your 30s and 40s and 50s, you think you've got all the time in the world. Suddenly, you're 75 - you say, or get off the pot."

The "Rain Man" actor finished the production of Jon Favreau's "Chef" in mid-July. He will begin filming Roald Dahl's "Esio Trot" opposite Dame Judi Dench and a feature film called "Boys Choir" later this year.

He is starring alongside Scarlett Johansson and Robert Downey Jr. in "Chef".

Hoffman has won two Oscars for best acting for Rainman(1988) and Kramer vs Kramer (1979).
