Irish actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers is having a hard time recovering from his alcohol addiction.
The "Tudors" star was spotted earlier this month on the streets of London looking extremely disheveled. He held a plastic bag in one hand and a bottle of cheap liquor in the other.
Judging by the spill marks on his shirt, it seems as though he was drinking straight from the bottle.
He has been in and out of rehab for alcohol addiction several times since 2005, People had previously reported, but it seems as though this was only a tiny speed bump on his road to recovery.
After the image was released, Meyers issued a statement via his fiancée Mara Lane's Instagram.
The photo shows a selfie of Lane shedding a tear and the caption reads, "Mara and I are thankful for your support and kindness during this time. I apologize for having a minor relapse and hope that people don't think too badly of me."
He went on to explain that his actions do not reflect his performance in his newest movie, "Damascus Cover."
He also apologizes for his "disheveled appearance," explaining that he had not changed before he left a friend's house.
"I feel I made a mistake and feel quite embarrassed but this was just a blip in my recovery," he stated. "Otherwise I'm living a healthy life."
