Kenyan Lawyer Offers Livestock to Marry Obama's Eldest Daughter

Felix Kiprono, a young Kenyan lawyer, offered U.S. President Obama 50 cows, 70 sheep and 30 goats in exchange for his 16-year-old daughter Malia's hand in marriage, MSN News reported.

Kiprono said, in an interview with The Nairobian newspaper, that he became interested in Malia since 2008 when Obama was running for office and Malia was just 10 years old.

"As a matter of fact, I haven't dated anyone since and promise to be faithful to her. I have shared this with my family and they are willing to help me raise the bride price," he said.

Kiprono intends to reach out to Obama about his proposal, and hopes that the president will bring his daughter on his first presidential visit to Kenya.

"I am currently drafting a letter to Obama asking him to please have Malia accompany him for this trip. I hope the embassy will pass the letter to him," he told Yahoo! News.

Kiprono said that he isn't a "gold-digger," and that his love for Malia is real.

The young lawyer has already planned his proposal, which he would want to do on a hill near his rural village. Champagne would be shunned in favor of traditional sour milk called "mursik" during their wedding.

If Kiprono and young Obama married as he wished, they would lead "a simple life." He would even teach Malia how to milk a cow, cook ugali (maize porridge) and prepare mursik like any other Kalenjin woman.
