Another reboot is coming at you, movie fans.
20th Century Fox is reportedly developing a new version of "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen," according to The Tracking Board. The property originally started as a popular graphic novel created by Alan Moore and Kevin O'Neill. It received a big screen live-action adaptation in 2003 starring Sean Connery, Naseeruddin Shah, Peta Wilson, Tony Curran, Stuart Townsend, Shane West, Jason Flemyng, and Richard Roxburgh. However, the film was universally panned by critics and earned a lukewarm $178 million worldwide.
The graphic novel and the film both focused on a group of Victorian-era literary icons using their abilities and super natural powers to defeat evil enemies. The featured heroes are generally Alan Quatermain, Captain Nemo, Mina Harker, Rodney Skinner (the Invisible Man), Tom Sawyer, Dorian Gray and Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde.
Most recently, the property was pitched as a television series though Fox never got past the casting phase.
The feature film reboot will be overseen by Ira Napoliello and Matt Reilly and John Davis of Davis Entertainment will produce. A director has not yet been chosen and it is unknown at this time if the film will follow any of the storylines from the source material.
