"The Little Couple" stars Bill Klein and Jennifer Arnold are very happily married, but Klein hasn't always been this content with his life.
Their new book, "Life is Short (No Pun Intended): Love, Laughter, and Learning to Enjoy Every Moment," reveals some of the hard times he has been through, and he's finally speaking out about his depression.
In a new interview with HuffPost Live to promote the book, the two sat down to talk about some of the personal moments they decided to share in the book.
Klein specifically admitted that he once contemplated suicide and that he struggled with depression for several years because of his dwarfism.
"I was bullied more than I'd like to remember," he said.
Klein is just four feet tall due to a rare form of Spondyloepiphyseal Dysplasia, according to Us Weekly. Because of this struggle, he didn't always have it as good as he does now.
While attending New York University, he began to have suicidal thoughts.
"In college, I had reached the deepest [pit] of depression and that brought me to the brink," he said. "Since then, things have turned around huge for me. My life has gotten better and better every single year."
The couple now has two children, Will and Zoey, and Klein only wants the best for them. He wants to teach them what matters and what doesn't.
He says he wants to show them "what they need to take to heart and what will make them the best person they'll continue to develop into."
"I've had bumps along the road every year to deal with," Klein continued. "But that said, I hope I can teach my kids to do better than I did when it comes to dealing with people you can't control."
