Dogs lost in the Texas flood need your help to find their humans!
Facebook pages 2015 Flood Houston Volunteers for Lost and Found Pets and Wimberley Adoption Group & Rescue are flooding - both literally and figuratively - with posts of worried humans who lost their furry friends in the storm.
The Austin Animal Center, which is already over capacity, keeps being brought more pets every day but they were forced to close their doors, reported My Pawsitively Pets.
Some amazing humans, despite the tragedy, are opening their doors to become temporary foster parents and give the homeless animals a dry place to stay for the night.
Jesenia Bazam Moreno, who managed to rescue a disoriented Bassett Hound, during the floods told USA Today that the dog she found doesn't have a collar nor a microchip. When she found him he was running with a doggy friend, but she only managed to get one of them to come with her and her family.
"We just saw two dogs running, and my mom said, 'Stop.' My mom got out of the truck to look for them. He was just really scared. He was shaking nonstop. He just didn't want to move anywhere at all," Moreno told USA Today.
Some animals managed to find their humans already, like this cute little guy, according to the 2015 Flood Houston Volunteers for Lost and Found Pets Facebook page.
For those in the area, the more the pictures of lost pets are shared on local social media accounts the more likely they will be to find their human. For those outside Texas who want to help these animals contact Texas based rescues, such as Lost Dogs Of Texas, to send blankets and food for the animals.
