Too soon, Sherri Shepherd!
Shepherd made an awkward joke about giving away her children to Raven-Symoné when she returned to "The View" on Thursday. The actress-comedian starred on the daily talk show from 2007 to June 2014.
During the show's Hot Topics segment, the women discussed a new report stating millennials are in no rush to have children. Raven, the only millennial on the panel, revealed that she had wanted to have a child since age 15
"I'm 29, I'm about to be 30 this year. I want a baby so bad. I've wanted a baby since I was 15," the former "Cosby Show" star said.
Shepherd responded, "I got one or two you could have of mine. I'll give them to you." She then clarified, "Women with kids are like, 'Take mine.'"
The pre-taped episode was shot in April, shortly after a judge ruled Shepherd the legal mother of her and ex Lamar Sally's child born via surrogacy. The soon-to-be divorced couple has been locked in a bitter custody battle since August, and the 48-year-old actress must take financial responsibility for the child.
Shepherd also has a 10-year-old son, Jeffrey Jr., with first husband Jeffrey Tarpley.
She also took a swing at Sally while on "The View" when the topic of divorce came up.
"Girl, don't tell me about divorce being expensive," she said. "I'll tell you about divorce being expensive."
Shepherd wished she would have listened to her best friends when they started worrying about her marriage.
"I actually feel like if I had listened to my best friends, I wouldn't be having a million attorneys in my life right now.
Luckily, her best friends were still there for her when her marriage did eventually explode.
"I think - the wonderful thing about best friends is they don't hold it again you. So all the stuff that I'm going through now, all of my best friends who told me, 'Sherri, don't do this,' they welcomed me back with open arms."
Shepherd cited her relationship with her former co-host, Whoopi Goldberg, for her support during the whole ordeal.
"Nobody ever said, 'I told you so,' especially Whoopi Goldberg, because she came in my room every day and was like, 'Here's the red flags.' She came and said, 'I got your back.' So I love all my best friends."
