A tableau of French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte's life has been built with 1.2 million Lego blocks just in time for the 200th anniversary of the famous battle in Waterloo.
The exhibit, called "History in Bricks," presents different scenes from Napoleon's life and includes a replica of his famous tricorne hat. Historians have been invited to observe how accurate the displays are in representing the famous emperor.
"We wanted an event that would cross generations. Here even the youngest can look at these pieces of history and understand their origins, while having fun," said Eric Jousse, the curator of the exhibition, according to the Agence France-Presse.
The exhibition also includes a near eight-foot tall, 1,100-pound model of Les Invalidades, Napoleon's final resting place in Paris, as the centerpiece of the display. The model is made up of a total of 274,000 bricks and took 1,000 hours to build.
Other life events in the tableau include the wedding at the Arc de Triomphe in Paris and the famous Lion's Mound, which was built at the site of the Battle of Waterloo, AFP reported
"We wanted an exhibition dedicated to children that would also appeal to adults. It will be the perfect complement to the rest of the events for the bicentenary," said Waterloo deputy mayor Yves Vander Cruysen.
