A 22-year-old student of the University of Alabama at Birmingham killed his mother after an argument about grades.
Tyler Ryan Blansit, the only sibling in the family, had been home for several weeks, and his parents were waiting for his grades. But he argued with his mother about said matter and killed her using a baseball bat.
Tyler called 911 and admitted on the crime, Mentone Police Chief Brad Gregg told CNN.
Police officers arrived at the family residence, seeing 45-year-old, Sherry Ann Blansit's body in the back yard. Scratches were found on Tyler when the officers met him at the scene, CNN affiliate WAFF reported.
Gregg Blansit, Tyler's father, was at work when the incident happened.
Blansit was charged with murder and is currently imprisoned.
