An orphaned, pregnant Chihuahua mix puppy found in a hollow tree trunk finally got the forever home she deserves.
Boo the dog was found hiding in a tree in Sebastapol, California (a town right outside of Santa Rosa) in April.
Sonoma County animal control officer Shirley Zindler told ABC News that when they found her she was "tiny, starving and pregnant."
She adds, "I think she was dumped there, and she was desperate to find shelter, so she got inside through the split at the bottom of the trunk. She'd probably never been handled, and she was very afraid of people, so it took over an hour to coax her out. But my scrambled eggs I was having for breakfast that morning did the trick."
After Boo's rescue things weren't looking good for the pup - she was petrified of people and none of the puppies in her litter survived.
But instead of losing hope in Boo, Zindler took Boo home with her for about a month to regain the pup's trust in people. The plan worked, which helped Zindler find Boo the safe and loving forever home she needed.
Now Boo lives happily with her human Kim Stohlman and at least two other animal friends, Zindler told ABC News.
Since adopting Boo, Stohlman created a Facebook page for the pup so other supporters can see her amazing progress.
Boo's newfound happiness is very evident from some of the pictures on her new Facebook page!
