Chad Michael Murray is a dad!
The 33-year-old "One Tree Hill" alum and his wife Sarah Roemer welcomed their baby boy on May 31. The proud papa revealed the exciting news via Twitter, letting his fans know that he would not be attending the 29th Annual Jim Kelly Celebrity Classic VIP Gala because he was being presented with "God's greatest gift."
"Sry I'm missin @JimKellyInc charity this year in Buffalo. My fav event 2 attend, but we've been blessed with a son. Gods greatest gift," Murray tweeted. "Sarah & I couldn't b happier & intend 2 spend many a day having family adventures & watching @buffalobills football! & also @Chargers now"
The actor's announcement was re-tweeted by Jim Kelly, a former Buffalo Bills quarterback. Football player Aaron Williams also congratulated Murray via Twitter, writing, "Congrats to my buddy @ChadMMurray on having his newborn son. Can't wait to meet him and see him go crazy at the Ralph one day."
The couple, who met last year while filming "Chosen," revealed in January that they tied the knot last summer and were expecting their first child together.
"Chad and Sarah are extremely happy and excited, and enjoying their life together," a representative for the actor told Us Weekly in an exclusive statement at the time. "We please ask that their privacy be respected at this special and personal time."
During his interview with Bello Magazine for its May 2015 cover, the "Marvel's Agent Carter" actor opened up about his personal life.
"You know, I'm really good at staying under the radar these days," Murray told the publication. "My wife and I, we don't go to the quote unquote 'cool' places. We have our own life, we have our dogs, we have our lifestyle that we truly enjoy, and we've got a cabin if we want to get away and go camping. I spend a lot of time outdoors, so I think that I'm getting the best of both worlds. I feel incredibly blessed. I feel very good about my private scene; I'm going to do everything I can to protect my family and go from there."
On expecting his first child, Murray admitted that he and his wife "couldn't be more excited; it's the greatest thing in the whole world. I'm going to sit back and enjoy this new chapter."
