Caitlyn Jenner To Receive 'Courage' Honor At ESPY Awards

The ESPY Awards will honor Caitlyn Jenner with the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at next month's ceremony.

Jenner, former known as Bruce, made her debut on the cover of Vanity Fair magazine on Monday with the title, "Call me Caitlyn." Her 10 children and stepchildren will join her onstage at the ESPY Awards on July 15 in Los Angeles, according to ESPN.

Jenner first revealed her transition in an interview with Diane Sawyer in April, then speaking as Bruce. The 1976 Olympic champion in the decathlon called that experience "a good day" but revealed his two-day photo shoot with Annie Leibovitz was "better."

"This shoot was about my life and who I am as a person. It's not about the fanfare, it's not about people cheering in the stadium, it's not about going down the street and everybody giving you 'that a boy, Bruce,' pat on the back, O.K. This is about your life," she told Vanity Fair.

The Arthur Ashe Award for Courage has been handed out annually since 1993 to 30 people total. Recent honorees include Michael Sam, Robin Roberts, Pat Summitt and Nelson Mandela.
