The American and Singaporean citizens who were missing in Yemen have been found and were brought to Oman on Monday, according to MSN.
The American was sent to Oman to meet the U.S. ambassador, a U.S. official told AFP.
Qaboos bin Said Al Said, the Sultan of Oman, gave orders to support Singapore and the United States in their search for the two missing people.
The sultanate, which had been initiating talks between the U.S. and Houthi rebels, worked with both governments to ensure the safety of the two people. They were taken from Sana'a to Oman to prepare for their homebound departures.
Houthi rebels imprisoned at least four Americans, U.S. officials said, according to the Washington Post, before the announcement of the found American and Singaporean citizens.
One of Houthi's prisoners were supposed to be released last week, however, the rebels suddenly changed their decision.
Details of the capture are limited because of informal communication between the U.S. and Houthi rebels. The Americans are believed to be imprisoned in Sana'a, the capital of Yemen, which has been bombed by Saudi Arabia multiple times for counterterrorism efforts.
The U.S. officials and prisoners' relatives asked the Washington Post to withhold certain details about the capture for safety purposes.
