Marvel RUMORS: ‘Captain America: Civil War’ Actor Martin Freeman’s Role Revealed?

There has been quite a lot of speculation about who actor Martin Freeman ("The Hobbit") is playing in "Captain America: Civil War." One of the popular fan choices that made the rounds on the Internet was Everett Ross, an American regent of Wakanda.

However, Kellvin Chavez of Latino Review is reporting that Freeman may actually be playing a character named Edward Chase, a yet-to-be introduced Prime Minister of England in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This character is expected to debut following the collateral damage caused by a fight between Captain America and Crossbones. Freeman's character will be one of the staunch supporters of the Super Hero Registration Act designed to govern the Avengers.

The site also says that the Prime Minister may have been mentioned in passing during "Avengers: Age of Ultron." Directly before Ulysses Klaw (Andy Serkis) is interrupted by Ultron, Klaw threatens to launch some missiles up a very unconformable place and then says: "Now, Minister, where were we?"

Freeman's Chase may have been the one on the other end of that phone call. Why would the Minister of England be on the phone with the likes of Klaw? The only fathomable reason is to try and procure some Vibranium to use for weapons against the growing power of super heroes.

This phone call and connection will reportedly be revisited in "Civil War" during a conversation between Chase and Daniel Brühl's Baron Zemo, the primary villain of the film. If true, Serkis' Klaw could also appear in the film as well.

However, this is all still an unconfirmed rumor at this point. We'll keep you updated as more details about the film continue to emerge.
