SanDisk has unveiled its latest offerings of Solid State Drives (SSD), which the company boasts can store up to 2 TB worth of data and has a transfer speed greater than 8500MBpS, during the Computex 2015 event held in Taipei, according to Food World News.
The SanDisk Extreme 900, which will be available soon, is being touted as the highest-performing portable SSD. The device will be available in either a 480GB or a 960GB version, and will cost from $399 to $999.
Another portable SSD is the SanDisk Extreme 500, which can store files up to 480 GB at a transfer rate of 415Mb/s, and is smaller than a smartphone. The Extreme 500 will be available for the price of $239.99.
The Company also introduced the SanDisk Ultra - a USB 3.0 Flash drive that can store files up to 256GB. The device reportedly has a transfer rate of 100MB/s, and will be priced at $199.
An alternative to these devices is the SanDisk Ultra Fit, which is a smaller version of the SanDisk Ultra. The Ultra Fit is considered as the smallest USB 3.0 flash drive in the Company's line-up, and boasts of a storage capacity of 128GB, with a transfer rate of 130MB/s.
Lastly, the company released a new 2TB SATA drive, which is set to replace spindle drives in data centers - the CloudSpeed Eco Gen II SATA SSD.
The CloudSpeed offers three times the bandwidth of spindle drives, and offers a lower cost per square foot alternative that can be assimilated straight into a live environment.
"Digital business transformation has put tremendous pressure on cloud service providers to deliver massive capacity and performance with increasing cost efficiency," said John Scaramuzzo, SanDisk's senior vice president and general manager for Enterprise Storage Solutions, according to The Inquirer.
