‘Star Wars’ RUMORS: Han Solo Married?

When Disney purchased Lucasfilm, the company announced that it was stripping away the Expanded Universe and establishing other canonical sources. These were to include cartoons such as "Star Wars Rebels" and Marvel comic books. Fans of previous material were going to have brace themselves for changes to their beloved characters.

The most drastic change thus far was made in this week's "Star Wars #6" from Marvel.

Warning: Spoiler Below

In the comic book's fourth issue, a masked character was introduced. Now, we know her true identity: Sana Solo, wife of Han Solo. We'll give you and Princess Leia a minute to digest this.

...

These comics take place in between "A New Hope" and "The Empire Strikes Back" which means that the writers should have a plan for Sana to either break things off with Han or be killed off before Leia declares her love for Han in "Episode V." Otherwise, fans will have an entirely new perspective on their favorite space scoundrel.

This is easily the most significant change to a main "Star Wars" character's backstory since the franchise was purchased by the Mouse House. Fans will surely want to know why Han never thought it pertinent to mention his wife in the previous films. Will Marvel comic book writers be able to come up with a satisfying explanation? Will this have any impact on "Star Wars: The Force Awakens?"
