Who said exes of your exes can't be friends?
Kevin Federline told Us Weekly that he and Justin Timberlake are friends - which is interesting because they both dated Britney Spears. The 37-year-old former backup dancer even said that he and the "Cry Me A River" singer "are cool" and go golfing together.
"We're cool. Me and J are. I actually just went to his last show in Vegas and hung out with him, got to see a lot of old friends," Federline told Us Weekly. "I'm friends with all the security guys. [They're] great, they're incredible. We've actually - guys that work with him have worked with us and still work with me, still to this day. You know everybody, you're friends with everybody. And yeah, me and J are cool."
He continued, "My best friend is his choreographer so we have mutual friends, and I mean, we've gone out golfing, we've hung out. You get older, you grow up, and you realize that was just a time in your life. S--t happens."
So, what about the big elephant in the room - Ms. Spears?
The "Pretty Girls" singer dated Timberlake in the 1990s then married Federline in 2004 and had two children with him, Sean Preston and Jayden James, before they broke up in 2007.
Federline was working for Timberlake before he began dating the pop star in 2004, even making an appearance in his "Like I Love You" music video.
"In the beginning when [Britney and I] first got together, it was awkward and I felt bad - I felt like maybe I should have called [Justin] and talked to him," he told Us Weekly. "But I didn't have his number."
There shouldn't be hard feelings anyway since both Timberlake and Federline have moved on with their lives. The "Mirrors" singer is married to actress Jessica Biel, with whom he shares son Silas, who was born in April.
As for Federline, he married former volleyball player Victoria Prince in 2013 and the two have 2-year-old daughter Jordan and 14-month-old daughter Peyton. He also has two children - daughter Kori, 12, and son Kaleb, 10, with ex-fiancée actress Shar Jackson.
Spears has been dating TV producer Charlie Ebersol for eight months.
Federline also opens up about his relationship with Spears - revealing that he and Spears met at a Los Angeles club and had undeniable chemistry on the dance floor.
"I went out to a club. We just hit it off," he said. "It was weird. It was one of those things where, it just happened," he said. "I was just dancing on the dance floor and we kind of just had this chemistry...We both got very involved and interested in each other. And it just kind of took off from there."
Federline said that the two hold no grudges and are committed to co-parenting their sons, saying, "We communicate on disciplining the kids and if they're grounded here, they're grounded there. She's a completely different person - as the kids will tell you!"
