"Star Trek" actress Nichelle Nichols suffered a mild stroke and was rushed to a hospital on Wednesday night.
The 82-year-old actress, who is best known for playing the role of Lieutenant Uhura in the popular TV series and six of its films, was taken to the hospital after an ambulance carted her from her home Wednesday night, according to TMZ.
Zach McGinnis, a representative from Galactic Productions, said in an update that Nichols underwent a CAT scan and MRI; the CAT scan came out negative while results for the latter are still pending.
"Currently she is awake, eating, in good spirits and able to have full conversations. Her right side has shown minor signs or mobility loss but she is not showing any signs of paralyses" McGinnis said via the actress' official Facebook page.
Nichols was one of few black women in the '60s who played a notable role on television. Her character Lieutenant Uhura was part of the notable "Star Trek" crew, according to CNN.
