Funeral of Two-Year-Old Best Man Held Shortly After Parents’ Wedding

Logan Stevenson, the two-year-old boy who has leukemia and the best man in his parents, wedding, died on Monday night, roughly a couple of days after the said wedding.

Christine and Sean, his parents, decided to bring him home on July 26 after doctors told them that he only had two to three weeks to live. They immediately moved their planned 2014 wedding to an earlier date to include Logan in the special event.

Even if he only spent two years on Earth, Logan has touched many people’s lives.

The chubby-cheeked boy, who suffered from Fanconi anemia, went through a lot of struggles during his life, including the removal of a kidney and stem cell transplant.

Rev. Jan Zotter remarked during the funeral service that Logan’s life has had an effect worldwide.

Even though Zotter was the only speaker during the service, others also expressed their feelings through poster boards saying “We Miss You Already” and “The Best Man.”

Debbie and Larry Stevenson, Logan’s grandparents stated in a letter, “Heaven, I am told, is such a beautiful place, free of illness and hurt. Even though it was heartbreaking to let you go, Heaven is very lucky to have you.”

His grandmother also said in the note that Logan should not worry about them because they will find a way to move on and that he will also be in her heart forever and will always remember him.

Zotter implied that the understanding God’s plans is comparable to a kid figuring out why his mom and dad keep on saying no. People can’t understand God’s will like a child can’t understand what his parents like.

Time will come that we will fully understand the reasons why these kinds of things are happening.

Zotter ended the service with soothing words saying that Logan is with our God now and is very happy playing with the clouds, doing things he never got the chance to do.
