‘Star Wars Episode 7’ RUMORS: ‘The Force Awakens’ To Feature Original Trilogy Character?

Is Wicket, everybody's favorite Ewok from "Return of the Jedi," making an appearance in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens?"

At first glance, it seems very unlikely that Wicket or any of the Ewoks would be included in this new film. While helpful to the Resistance, they were a bit ridiculous in retrospect. However, it's possible that actor Warwick Davis could be returning to the role of the rebellious native of Endor.

Actress Daisy Ridley, who plays Rey in "The Force Awakens," and producer Kathleen Kennedy recently were on a press tour of Japan and the press book included a very interesting listing for Davis.

"Now, there's a chance every one of the actors [listed in the press book] needed a character name and they just went with Davis' most famous character after Wald, companion of Kitster in The Phantom Menace," Jason Ward of Making Star Wars wrote. "However, we had heard about some art depicting a not-so-happy ending for the Endor natives when the First Order goes to the planet to get the Darth Vader mask years before The Force Awakens. Maybe we will see Wicket walking around the Resistance base?"

Wicket isn't a crucial character for "Star Wars" going forward. But it would be a fun nod to the original trilogy to see a brief cameo from his character. Would J.J. Abrams be up for that? We'll have to wait to find out, unfortunately.
